Question 24v is coughing, dieing, and spitting smoke: Video included!

I'm kind of at a loss here. At first i thought it was just just the VP pump giving out. I have most of the gear to do the P-pump swap at this point, but i have a sneaking suspicion that it could be air in the line. Sometimes while driving down the road it'll cut out pretty hard; it feels like the key gets shut off and back on pretty hard. Usually a puff of white smoke will come out the back. Heres a video that gives a bit of an example of whats happening. The symptoms aren't as bad as normal but you should get the point.

Thanks,

I saw that your tank was on "E" Does it happen when the tank is over half full? The jumping on your fuel pressure gauge is normal and from the VP injection cycles, I believe.

It still happens when the tank is full. I tried checking for leaks between the tank and the pump by putting a few psi of pressure in the fuel tank for a few minutes. There was one point where i redid the fuel lines, my fuel pressure gauge stayed steady and the truck ran smooth, but i havent been able to reproduce it yet. I've been considering dropping the tank and having a AN fitting welded to the fuel line and check to make sure that the fuel sock in the tank isn't plugged up
