2001 Trans limp mode, no ac, charging issues

Hey guys, my work truck is a 2001 dodge 3500 sc dually 4x4 auto with about 140k on it and stock except for an upgraded fuel supply. Today out of the blue it won't shift out of 3rd and starts in 2nd or 3rd gear when put in D. It will drop to 1st and 2nd if you pull the lever down but otherwise it starts in higher gears. The AC pump wont cycle, I tried bridging the connection to signal it on but it wont and there is at least 60psi in the low side, so its not out of freon. The volt meter is off too, it registers around 12v, not the usual 14v when running well. When driving down the road it will run down to 8 and the check gauges light will come on. The truck runs fine other than the trans and when I pull it over and shut it off, it starts right back up like it doesn't have a charging issue. I'm assuming these are all tied to something electrical so I tried cleaning all the grounds I could find, and the battery terminals, pulled the cables for the grid heater thinking maybe it was stuck on, and looked everywhere I could think of for a shorted wire or something like that but no dice. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Anyone have this happen to them? Thanks

Governor pressure solenoid and transducer will fix the transmission. Common problem with them autos. As for the voltage problem. check your single wire on the plug coming off the back of the alternator. I ordered a Leece Neville to put on mine when my alt was giving me grief, and it turned out to be a lose connection in the plug where the trigger wire goes in the back of the alternator..The Leece Neville 160 amp alternator was cheaper than the OEM dodge alt.
