I heard from a friend that Hummer wheels won't fit on the center hub you have put them on a lathe and open them up by .250".

Not true. My early '01 with drums came with alloy rims. The 16" alloys are all the same too.

This is what I've seen as well. The 00 and 01 rear drums don't have fins on them and the alloy wheels will fit.
I've never tried putting the smooth drums on the older trucks though.
I want to say the rear "hubs" are different from 99 to 2000, and you can't interhchange the drums because of that.....but, I just can't remember.

The difference between the 2001 D70 drums and the ones on my 1998 D80 is very noticeable. The newer drums are wider than the older ones, do not have cooling fins. I'm willing to bet that the backing plate is different on them. If I remember tomorrow, I'll try to get some measurements off of them.

You should easily be able to find some H2 wheels and w/slight mod install them and IMO they'll look better than any stock wheel.

BOTH MY 01 DUALLY and my friends 01 2500 have rear drums, his truck has factory aluminum 16" not sure when the break is to the 2001.5
