2001 Dodge Value.

I am looking at buying a 2001 Dodge 3500 4x4 ext cab. it is 6 speed with 167000 miles on it. Very clean and solid colorado truck no rust at all. What should this truck be worth. HE is asking $11500 Let me know what you guys think. It has new tires all the way around, new s300 turbo, water methanol, new gauges, and new 5 inch exhaust. What is the truck worth on todays market. is it worth $11500. Any info is helpful.
Thanks

Just keep in mind that with those mods it has probably led a hard life!

With the mods, i would ask around about the truck history.
Anything been changed or replaced in it?
How does it drive, and the trans shift?

I have about the same miles and did a complete rebuild cause of a dropped valve. not due to all the extra mods. I would be asking more for my truck due to the rebuilt engine and new turbo. but also on my truck I have done alot of good daily driving upgrades (steering). you can bet you will have some steering issues to address. also on the 6 speed you really need to drive it and see how it shifts. most 6 speeds can be notchy in nature but you dont want one that needs rebuilt as soon as you buy it.

He stated that he bought the truck last sept with 162000 miles on it, it has 167000 on it now. he added the stuff and as never had a chip on it. I also found a 2wd same optinos for $7500 with 177k miles on it. i need help making a decision.
Thanks

that is a really hard sell if you never drove it. maybe look into that areas chapter on DTR and see if anyone can go by and check it out?

Unless you really need the 4wd and don't mind spending 4 grand more I would go for the 2wd. I don't believe for a minute that he did not chip it. Look at the mods he did, not small stuff. Why would he not do a chip which is a lot cheaper than a turbo. Why would he sell it so quickly?
A lot of red flags here.
Just my honest opinion.

I agree i have thought of that. I am planning a trip to colorado at Christmas so i will be driving both trucks and making a decision. I need a truck to pull my 50ft 3 car hauler wedge gooseneck trailer.
The 2wd they said came from oregon and they want to sell it to buy a smaller truck. It has a chip on it an edge box. I will drive both and which ever one drives , shifts, handles the best i will buy.
Thanks again

Make sure you look for the 53 block, lots of threads about it do a search. Selling a cracked block truck is one way of avoiding a 2k+ repair bill.
