2 questions- Both transmission related.

2001 Cummins 4x4 Auto trans.

1- Does any one know of the top of your head what thread the bolts are that hold the trans pan on? I have two that are stripped and I want to pick up a thread repair kit this morning.

2- While passing a car(s) this morning, the trans dropped down like normal. But half way around the second car, it sounded and felt like it tried to go into neutral or something. I'm sure it is a solenoid issue, but there are several in this trans, 47RE.

Sounds like the torqe converter unlocking then locking back . Simple things to try first clean your battery cables . But when you do that leave your ignition switch on for about 30 min . Then turn it off hook the cables back up turn the switch back on an mash the fuel pedal to the floor an release it slowly to the top an this will sync every thing . Theres lots of info on here about the 47re just hit search an type in 47re an get ready too have tired eyes . One other thing if your saveing trip meter mileage for any reason it wiill clear when you unhok both batterys .

1. Bolts are 5/16th standard.
2. Check fluid level and adjust KD band

Thanks dozer.
I have already improved the grounds and tin foil thing about a year ago. This issue just started. After I posted, and drove home, it actually feels like it's kicking out of gear into neutral when I hit a hill or put any load on it.
