And complaining about the way it's running? Calling it garbage?

How much do you think your driveline was designed for? Why are you continuing to throw parts at it? How much power do you really think you need?
Mine's been abused a lot more than that for probably a lot longer and its still running perfectly fine. I don't think it's the power that hurt him.

I'm betting it's your VP44 and has been the whole time. Replace that and I'll bet you fix your problem.

sounds kinda like my problem awhile back. I put in new injectors and it ran like crap. thought maybe it was the stock in the tank fuel pump. So i bought a holley black pump and ran it inline. Still ran like crap. Just for the heck of it, I changed the fuel filter and filled the filter cannister up with tranny fluid. Fired the truck up and it ran perfect! Someone said my vp-44 must have had a stuck vavle inside and the tranny fluid broke it loose. Now, everytime i change the fuel filter, i always refill it with tranny fluid. Makes it nice also cause I dont have to prime the system, the fluid takes all the air outta the lines.

Tranny fluid is not designed to burn and has additives in it that theoretically can hurt the pump. I would not run tranny fluid through my engine. I'd do 2 cycle oil instead.

Replaced the check valve and no change. Still no codes but ordered a VP anyway. Ill give a HRVP a try this time. We will see if thats it. Been wanting to be in the 600s HP wise for a while. I dont think i can do it on a 62 but the pump should get me closer. Ill let ya know if that was the problem.

BigBlue, How much boost were you running when you put down the 451?

48lbs. I've gone from 496hp to 451hp. My injection pump is getting very weak.

Well for anyone that was following this, I got the HRVP in today (haven't really felt like working on a truck lately). Smokes more, idles funny, and still misses. Guess its back to the drawing board.

On a good note i have a good HO VP available

I need to change the title of the thread to " $3500 and still BUSTED"

i just went through the same thing not too long ago. i replaced the vp and it still missed. i was messing with the old pump and noticed that the key on the pump shaft was almost sheared off and it clicked real loud in the pump when i turned the shaft. i ended up swapping out my injectors and it runs great. i think that the pump sent something into my injectors, jamming some of them up.

Actually just got back from the test drive. MAP was the issue. Odd thing is it checked out 2 weeks ago when i tested it. I recently got a low voltage MAP code so i figured what the hell, ill swap it out.

Truck runs **** good. Pulls all the way to 3500RPM. The HRVP makes a heck of a difference. Cant wait to get some new numbers.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help from everyone.
