1999 150k miles five speed clutch making noise help!
Hi there everyone. I got what sounds like a tin can rattling around in the bellhousing area. When I push clutch in it goes away and today it started making noise when you release the clutch slowly kinda a sqeeling. Is this the Throwout bearing you think? If so how hard of a job is it and how much for new throwout bearing? All aspects of the trans are perfect no clutch slipping, shifts great and easy. Thanks CD

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Sounds like bearing, clutch cover, clutch disc, or bearing support broken. These failure are self evident upon separating the transmissin from the engine.
Upon inspection a decision if you want to put it back together without completelly replacing the disc, cover and bearing. With the milage I'm sure all components are showing wear.
