12v in 24v truck
I'm putting a rebuilt 98 12v in a 2000 24v truck. Where/how do I need to tie in for the tach? My 2000 has both cam and crank sensor. I don't remember seeing a tone wheel on the 98 crank.
Thanks

It probably doesn't have one. You could pull the pan and see if it is drilled and tapped to accept a tone ring. You will need to keep all the 24v electronics intact and plug as much of it in as possible to keep the dash happy.

Thanks Tate.
I got the 24v pulled and the engine compartment washed up yesterday. I'll pull the crank sensor on the 24v and look to see what the tone wheel looks like. I'll then check my 12v.
Any other way other than getting a 98 12v ecm/pcm to get tach to work off harmonic balancer? Cut more notches in it for 24v ecm to read? I'll have to look at the tone wheel first I guess.
