well some people are just like that. They think if someone else will replace part on their car it won't work or something...I don't know. Sure keeps repair shops busy though.

$90 to change the belt and $1200 for the water pump? Once you get the belt off, 2 more bolts and it is done.
supr - Can you give us some details on how you knew your A/C Condenser was bad and why it went out twice?

talked to my supervisor, he says he expects to pay $1200-$1500 for water pump change....I just smiled and walked away. They he says he just doesn't want "anyone" working on it but "diesel mechanic"
Is it just me or it doesn't take "diesel mechanic" to change a water pump on a truck. Maybe there's something I don't know?

It wsa simple. The AC got worse & worse. You could add 134A, but that is temporary. It did the same twice, over 24 months. The Service Manager said 2 condensers in 2 years would be case for concern. Judging from the other posts I see, it seems to be the #1 AC problem. I took it to the dealer becase it was still under the 7 year extended warranty that has paid for itself at least twice.
I am considering looking at anotther warranty extesion with perhaps Good Sam(I have a Fiver warranty policy to cover major items) or maybe look at US Fidelis. When things go wrong with our trucks, it gets expensive in a hurry!

My boss's '03 with only 42K miles on it has water pump out ALREADY. He's not happy and looking to switch to Toyota.
I had 4 brand spanking new Dodge Rams, I finally said enough
The sad thing is, it took me 4 to be convinced
