03 H2 wheels fit with Machine work done??
I found a great deal on a set of h2 wheels that came off a 03 Hummer H2. I just want to make suer that this year wheel can be machined to fit the 2nd gen dodge, thanks for the help

Yes they can, have to open up the center a bit. Do a search on here, the exact dimensions are around this site somewhere. Know a few guys that run those rims.

Thanks for the help, i picked the rims up today, they only had ten miles on them and i even got the spare rim too. I am now searching for the size to have the hole opened up to. I found it last night but forgot to save the page

I have found that 4.774" seems to be what everyone is boring out the center too on the h2 rims for the 3rd gens, is this the same size that it needs to be bored out to for a 2nd gen, thanks

I cut mine out w/a rotozip tool in about an hour. Because the wheels fit lug centric and not hub centric you should have no problem using this method or some have used a router as well. The BFGs provide a great ride....enjoy.

There is a lip on the hub, a kind of concave ring around the hub. Turn the rim over so you can put the router on the backside of the hub/lug area. Use a router on the bottom of the rim with a bearing guide running on that outer/lower ring. The bearing and bit can be any size diameter so long as the bearing is the same width/diameter as the bit. Your wheels with fit perfectly. 3 minutes per wheel max and a great look. Just be careful with the initial cut and make sure the bearing rides on that lower/outer ring. Now if only the Hummer caps or our caps would fit without some severe cutting on the back hubs....

Thanks for the info, i have never used a router before, though i do have access to one, i am not sure if this is a good time to learn how to use one, do you have any pics that would possibly clear things up for me, thanks

I'll have to try that lug nut thing.... Why didn't I think of that?
As far as routing your wheel holes, here goes:
Your router bit should look like this:

The bearing is flush with the cutting bit so it only cuts even with the bearing guide.
Look inside your wheel and you will see a cup shaped rim around the inside of the hole. If you turn your wheel upside down (so the side you normally see is facing down) the wider part of the lip is on the bottom. Just adjust the router bit depth so the bearing guide is level with that wider rim area. Start off a little higher, run the router around the wheel a little bit, and then adjust the router bit depth until all of the narrower rim is shaved off. It's only about 1/8" or so that you will be reaming off. Once you get the right depth then just circle it around the inside of the rim hole until it is all smooth. A regular steel router bit should be good enough to easily shave all 4 or 5 wheels.

thanks for the info and the pic. I borrowed the picture of the thumbnail you attached and drew in a red line. Where this red line is on the thumbnail, is that were i want to shave the lip off to?? Thanks
