I never had the 0216 code until after I pulled my 36 ft. 5th wheel through the hills of Arkansas and Missouri this past week. Now it shows the code on the three key cycle along with the 0217 code for an overheat. My temp never got above 210 and my egts never got above 850. So why all of the sudden am I throwing these codes. I have no dead pedal whatsoever and she's still running like a scalded ape! So what's the deal? Dieing IP?..If so why am I getting the 0217 as well....TIA

 

I developed my first ever dead pedal last month pulling a slight grade (not towing) on Smarty level 5 on a HOT day. Pulled the codes and sure enough, 0216. Set it back to stock and ran another 400 miles with out ever getting another dead pedal incident, however I had hard start/extended crank times. Took it to dealer for warranty VP. Are you experiencing extended crank times?
About 2 weeks prior to experiencing the dead pedal, I was having hard start/extended crank time issue that I thought was the batteries. They checked out fine and I never gave it another thought. I should have pulled the codes then

No, no extended crank times, no dead pedal whatsoever. Still smokes like a freight train and stomps 6.0s. No hesitation or stumble. Drives like a dream...Just have the codes. Beats me. But milage is a little bad. 10-11mpg towing 16,000 lbs. Don't think that's too normal???

 

I think I need to visit Industrial Injection and a FASS dealer.

 

if you got a po216 code the pumps on its way out might lase a year or 2 days when to replace is up to you but its dead scheid makes one of the best pumps ive seen and there close in price to ii but i know scheids warrenty is way beter than industrial injection the fass is $$$$ but its nice mines never under 15 psi
