hmmm..

i'm thinking that
I got a good deal with my
"00" LB 2500 2WD SLT Laramie loaded with every option that was available with 191K miles for $9350
Camper special, leather with heated seats, Infinity premium stereo, BW flushmount hitch, HD suspension and sway bars, new VP44 and lift, rebuilt tranny, etc...
KEEP LOOKING! there are good deals out there for a patient person. I must have looked at over 100 trucks..

Ok, I went and drove the truck again, this time for about 100 miles. Few more questions:
1)Does the 47RE have a higher (numerically lower) overdrive than the NV5600? Because I didn't think the 4.10s were that bad going 65mph.
2)Someone posted earlier that 172k is too late to upgrade the tranny with just new tc & vb, thoughts on this? I am only planning on adding about 100hp or so (quad XZT and then maybe something else later) but want a firmer shift.
3)With 172k miles is there anything I should plan on replacing soon, maintenance wise. It has new LP and IP.
The dealer came back with a better price, and since it was late last night, I didn't get paperwork done, but if everything comes back ok I will be getting it.

Thanks,
Nick

your crazy.....my dad had a 97 CTD with 3.55's and that think was a dog yeah it was stock but when i got mine still stock with 4.10's we couldn't believe the difference way better driveability. sure i cant go 75-80 without getting worse millage but i can cruse at 70 all day and pull 15-18 mph hec k dang near 20 at 65mph with a tail wind. i would never go back to 3.55's also having the 4:10's i think is what is saving my stock trans with all my mods

i am maybe getting 16mpg on my 2002 with a 6spd and 3.55's. Its city driving mostly. But on the highway the rpms are a bit high for my liking. I am around the same rpms as you with the 3.55's

It took me a year and a half to find the right truck. Be patient, it's out there!
