01 Dually Rear rotor question

I did a search but had no luck finding an answer. I have an 01 Dually 4x4 and am changing the rear rotors, I have the axle out but there's a small clip holding the axle nut in place, how do you remove this clip? I'm stumped.

Nevermind, they just pull out duh. How about the size of the socket for the nut, anyone know that?

I guess I'll answer my own question again, the socket size is 2 9/16 just as the other posts pointed out but it would have helped if the first time I went down and bought the socket, that I removed the gasket around the flange because it makes it seem like the socket is too big. LOL I returned the socket and had to go back to buy it again but only after spending half the day trying to find the correct size. Doh!

On my 2002 the rear rotors come off without removing the axle or hub. My 95 3500 dual rear wheel the drums also come off without removing the hub or axle. Me thinks you are making more work for yourself.

On a 01 dually 4x4 (or at least my 01 dually) the assy has to come off to get to the bolts holding the rotor and hub together. There's no other way to accomplish this, it would have been great if it were otherwise.

I dont think the rear rotors are bolted on. Do you have the factory service manual?

No I don't have a factory service manual (I could use one if anybody has one for sale), but I can assure you they are bolted to the hub because I just changed them this weekend......all weekend.
