'01 2500 won't start and code P0234

Started crappy then died. Would not start. After several attempts started then ran fine. Ran 20 minutes restarted 2 or 3 times fine. 10 hours later started crappy then died and would not start. Shot of starting fluid got it going. Checked codes got PPCU , P1693, Pdone, PECU, P0234.
Any help would be appreciated

are any of the codes fuel related? i remember hearing that early 24v trucks had a crappy fuel system and the lift pumps take a crap. if it won't run i would think its a fuel related problem.

It needs a new injecton pump it is cracked internally and is getting air in the system after you shut it off be sure to switch the lift pump when you change the injection pump its probly bad to if you would like to check it put a manual gauge on the side of the injection pump fuel pressure should be 7 too 14 pounds if you have any questions feel free to give me a call at 94123 23989

first of all do you have fuel in the tank? lots of 2nd gens get a crack in the draw straw or there senders go bad or read wrong, verify you have fuel going to the and from the lift pump. a fuel pressure gauge is a must on the 24v engines because low pressure can kill the injection pump not always but a lot of times. start there before you buy a VP44 $$$ alot of times its not the vp but something else if that dont help come back we will get you going

Thanks for all your input. Since I already had a new fuel pump , and draw straw , knew that wasn't the problem. Discovered it was the cam sensor - replaced it in about 30 minutes and now it is starting perfectly. Codes must have been something old that was never cleared out of system.
