I've looked and cannot find and Also read that you cannot, but thought I would ask if there are any yokes that will bolt to a Dana 70 and/or the 205 using the 1480 Ujoints? I'm having a drive line built for my truck and I would love to run the bigger joints. I asked the drive line shop, he said no he does not know of any but if I can come up with some he would be more than happy to make the drive shaft with 1480 ends.

I'm pretty sure a 1480 yoke is available for a d70, not sure about the 205. Way overkill for the small pinion d70 and small shaft'd 205. I'd probly hold off til you go d80 and 241 or 271.

Go to the Dana website. You can navigate it and get the part numbers you need.

Agreed, it would be way over kill, but here is a couple. Prices are shocking.

A 1480 isn't really that much bigger. They have larger diameter cross/caps, but have the same width as a 1410. Unless you are wearing out 1410's fast, I would not bother.

Alright then guys, thanks for the advice. I will leave them for now. My plan was for a Dana 80, but sourcing one here in the phoenix area is next to impossible(that some one doesn't think its worth it's weight in gold). I was thinking more of making the drive line for "future delopement" but as I need it done now figured why not. After seeing those prices for something that will only be there until "the right deal comes along" I don't think I will wast my money.

Dose the Np 241 or 271 come in passenger side drop? I don't think it does, but then again I didn't find those yokes.....

When does the 205 become the weak point? Should I start looking now? If so what do I need to look for? I.E. year, model, diesel specific, I'd guess manual trans only. Do the second gens have bolt on rear yokes or the slip in yoke? <That's gonna suck If I get my new drive shaft done just in time to change it again!!

The 1988-1993 DODGE GAS (V-6 and V-8) NP241s are a driver's side drop.
They also have a fixed rear yoke that uses a 32 spline shaft.

I believe that you can swap pieces around from the later DHD/DLD cases and make a 29 spline input work in one of these, too.

Mark.
