If all that is wrong is low power, make sure the maintenence is up to date first. fuel filter, air filter, check fuel press, check turbo, afc, line from int to afc, throttle linkage, pop test injectors, check tire pressures. always do the pump last.
Good luck

Not long ago, we were doing some R&D on a VE pump...the shop owner is a great diesel tech..he know's his stuff no question....but.....
As noted in a previous post....he's "stuck in stock" land.....you shoulda seen his expression when I suggested he "do such and such".....geeezzzz...I thought his eyeballs was gonna fall out onto the floor..
He says, and I quote, "good grief, do you know what that's going to do to driveability?"......finally convinced him to do what we wanted and he still thought we were crazy...
Funny thing is, he said the same thing about five or six times....then, slowly, he began to see the madness in our madness and now listens real carefull when one of us tells him we wanna try this or that.....
The moral of the story, it's a Bosch shop and to keep that certification they need to "do it by the book", cause if someone complains and it goes bad, they can pay for it in the end...

Still...it was funny to watch him as he hauled out parts and put in totally unrelated ones in place....

pb....

just to let you know when I first got my truck it had little to no power and would loose speed going up hills also.

My problem was the $8 banjo bolt for the afc was missing

Put that bolt in and was a new beast

But now I'm used to it and need MORE POWER

Good luck, but I'd check the cheap stuff first. IMHO

OK its fixed I spoke with the tech that did the rebuild and he said the timing pin was broken and I was running on no air fuel and also noted that pump looked in bad shape and deffinately needed a rebuild, with that said the truck runs even better than when i bought it the rep that i delt with at the shop said they upgrade 2nd gen turbos all the time and next time they do he will give me a smaller wastegated exhaust housing. A lot of money I know but in the end I'm happy

good to hear!!! you'll probably want to have your compressor housing cut with an MWE slot or just swap over to a WH1C or HX35 so that you don't run into compressor surge w/ the 12cm housing.
