Yup. Just make sure there's a fuse on it so you don't burn the truck down.

the wire i ran for my radio i fust plugged in to the fuse box with no fuse on the wire itself. is that bad?

Yes. Put a fuse inline in the wire, or use a fuse tap to run it off the protected side of a fuse.

Buy a fuse holder and splice it in.
