Wireing a trailer brake controller

I'm going to add trailer brake wiring to my old dodge. I bought the T connector to get the standard 4 wires, but I'll still need to hook up the brake controller. Anybody got any tips, or a how too?

Going from memory there are 4 wires. Blue, white, red and black. Most I have seen also have writing on the wires to tell where they go. 1 is hot, 1 is hot from brake switch, 1 ground, 1 to the trailer connector.

Going from memory, Blue=Brake Wire to trailer plug in, White=Ground, Red=Brake light wire AFTER the switch, Black=12v. My suggestion run a ground directly to the battery, run the 12v directly from the battery with a circut breaker in line, I believe 20amp but it could be 30amp, solder and heat shrink all connections. The better the connections the better the brakes will work.
