will the hood ram from an early fit a 92?

Just a wondering,

I found a hood at an auction, and they were showing the inside. So I bid $1 and it's an early hood with some damage. The ram is in very nice clean condition- Was the hood line changed to were the ram won't fit properly if I drill holes?

I took the hood emblem of an 89 ram charger and mounted it to my 93 hood. Just had to make a template and drill the holes. Fit like a glove

Might help to know what year an "early" hood is.

Pretty sure the bird bath hoods never had a ram's head emblem. So any hood with an emblem from 1980 to 1993 will work.

Installing a '72-'79 birdbath hood also requires the under the wiper arm piece of sheet metal.
This metal goes from the back of the hood, to the windshield, and needs to be swap out, as well, or the body lines will be off.

That is one of the things on my gotta have list. as well as the cowl to look right the windshield wiper pivots are shorter.

Pretty sure I documented what was needed to do this in my build thread. I will paint my birdbath hood and cowl cover white at the same time so I can swap it on when/if I want.

That's a pretty neat idea. I think when I get one I will paint it flat black all th way up to the windshield. Ala RTs of the past.

Thought about that as well. I think I would go with the strobe stripes from the bottom of the scallops, out to the side of the fenders...ala 71/72 roadrunner hood treatments.

You mean when everything was American made, cams had so much overlap the exhaust burned your eyes.

And you would not be caught dead in a foreign car.

How I miss those days.

X3 on that.
You could pick out the makes and models of cars and trucks, in the night on the road, by the headlights or tail lights too.
