Will fuel screw effect max RPM
After putting on the new IP (from military tug) I turned up my fuel screw about 1-1.5 turns in. Subsequentially my RPM's went up as expected. I REMOVED the low idle screw and had to lengthen my linkage up from my throttle to get it down to about 800rpm in park (750 in Drive with brake applied).
Today out of curiosity I floored it after I parked to reference RPM. It went to 3500!! I calibrated the tach (autometer 2888) in park with the throttle to the floor with the original pump to 2700.
Do you guys think that I'm getting more RPM because the throttle shaft is rotated toward the front of the engine more (because of the fuel screw adj) and I'm getting longer travel, or did the military tugs have 3200GSK springs?

Sounds normal to me. When you tighten the power screw you increase the amount of fuel available under all conditions.
Free revving and defuel point under load are two different things. I know my truck defuels around 3200. I don't wanna know what it would free rev to...
