Will 01 seats fit 93?
OK, this is my first post and I this forum thing is very new to me...so please take it easy on me!
After months of searching I found my truck. It is currently getting a few things done to it for Federal/Provincial inspection (one of which is a Borgeson steering shaft). I purchased Autometer pyro and boost gauges, and will install them this week after I get the truck back. I'll change the fluids and overfill the tranny when I get it back.
I initially drove this truck approx 500 miles to get it home. It has a bench seat and I found it very uncomfortable!! There is an ad in the local paper where a guy has a 60/40 (he says) front seat and the bench seat from an 01 Dodge Ext Cab.
My question is: will these fit in a first gen truck? If so, how much modifying will need to be done? Oh, he has the seat belts as well.
Thanks,
Mike
PS - THANKS to all for the sleepless nights as I read the forums! Extremely captivating!!!!!

Yeah they will fit with some modification. Search for seat in 1st gen. theres a whole thread with pics and tips. I have 3rd gen seats. Just had to cut off 2 brackets, build 2 more out of angle iron, and drill 2 new holes.

Swapping the seats should be easy what even makes it nicer is when the seat has the safty belts built into it then that is one less thing you have to worry about the seat I used on my crewcab was out of a 98 I believe and just took drilling new holes sat higher and made the view much better also .

rbrettctd - Thank-you! That saved me a ton of time! I have looked at the threads before but after searching this time I printed some info out, too.
I think that I may try swapping them out because:
1) they look much more comfortable;
2) I am not 6' tall, so the heaight is not that big of an issue (to me, that is!);
3) my kids (8 & 9) do not like the jump seats!
I guess the issue will be more with the amount of leg room with the 2nd Gen rear seat.
Any more advice, pics or tips would really be appreciated!!
Thanks All.
