When I had my first gen as a DD it was fun easy to work on and reliable. I just out grow its space abilities as a DD ( Reg Cab went to Quad Cab).

Ok, the trash can thing just turned me off to older trucks. I live near the ocean, and I see guys with propellers sticking out the hitch receiver, and a name hand painted on the tailgate as if it was a boat. I don't get it. It's a truck, not a nuclear power plant.

But, as long as you like it, that's all that matters.

I was a dodge mechanic when the 1st gens came out I just had to have one well i bought a 1997 ext cab 4x4 has been a real good truck has 269000 miles on it but i finally got my hands on a 1st gen & probably drive it more often then the 2nd gen weather permitting also I have had many dodge trucks & have always had to make a lift kit for the bench seat. raise the front more then the back & its becomes very comfortable

HAHA.... At first glance, I thought that stack was photo shopped in there. It's huge but I love it. Gives it character.

I love the fact that I can find it in any parking lot because there's not another one like it.With my last white f150 there was always three more that looked just like it where ever I went.I like the fact that the guys who own them are usualy some of the nicest people you will ever meet(on this site anyway). When you put a new dent in it or scratch it just adds more character.Last but not least parts for them are pretty resonable compared to the newer diesels.
