Where should I get 4" exhaust?

Looking for good price and quality...Let me know what you have and how you like it. If its a 3" downpipe into a 4" pipe that is fine as well. I need from the downpipe to the front of the muffler (Im running stacks)
Thanks
Brian

I have the BigExhaust.com system. I love it. It has a 3.5" downpipe into 4" the rest of the way. They sell it in pieces, too, which would be perfect for you. It fit fine, You will need to hack off your old mounts and reattach them to the new system. I don't have a welder so I just left tabs of the old pipe on the hangers and used muffler clamps to hold them in place.

Does the heat shield make a difference, do you even think it is work the extra $5 or is it just gonna get in the way?
Thanks,
Brian

Well I went ahead and ordered it without the heat shield. It was much cheaper than I imagined as well. Thanks again!!

I believe the big exhaust system has a 3" downpipe, i put one in about a month ago, and i was aware that the downpipe was the same size as stock so i just reused my stock downpipe and it slid right together. i saved 90 bucks on the deal.

at 350 bucks im wondering if this system is worth it or would a muffler shop be ale to make something up? i dont really need the down pipe i dont think.

does it just use normal exhaust clamps rather than welding?

Muffler shops typically can't bend anything bigger than 2.5 inch pipe. I used plain 'ol muffler clamps on mine, but you could weld it up if you felt like it. The downpipe is nice to have if you're going to use a wastegated housing on the turbo because the flange is a beefy piece that's welded into the end of the pipe. I was able to cut the pipe back and have the flange welded back in to make room for the longer turbine housing.

sounds like a plan. my only hang up is the kit goes for 350. but for 170 i can buy everything but the down pipe. does that look right.

Dave -- you got a 3.5 inch down-pipe from them? They are only listing 3" downpipes now . . .

Alec- They said it was a 3.5" downpipe when I ordered it, I never actually measured it but it was larger diameter than the stock downpipe. Maybe I'll crawl under the truck with a set of calipers tomorrow just to see how big it really is.

wonder how well that kit would fit around my transfer case. anyone with a manual 4x4 or 727 auto try this kit? I figure the 518 4x4 would give you more space to work with down there.

I'm also curious as to how the 4in system fits on a 4x4 truck. I would like to hear what problems (if any) people with a 4wd have had with it.
