mahle pistons if you really want. no worries about melting them as soon as the aluminum ones would.

Actually, I can't remember. I'm not even going to guess, but I do know it's considerably higher than the regular aluminum ones. And we all know how much abuse they can take and live to fight another day.

Technically yes. Practically... I don't have the money to find out! They can withstand higher temps, and steel also expands less than aluminum, so I'd hazard a guess that they'd last longer from that alone.
I guess the exhaust manifold wouldn't be too happy, or the valves... turbine maybe? Kinda depends on how much heat for how long a period. You know what they say, everything in moderation!

I'm probably wrong but I thought Haisley had these? Well at least I know that they carry a few set of Pistons there. Did you melt a piston in your truck or just asking?

Too busy listening to Slayer? There's a guy on here whose real name is Kerry King!

Sorry, I digress. Here's a link to find a local store in your neighborhood that supplies Mahle pistons, rings etc. http://www.mahle-aftermarket.com/

You can get replacement pistons from Mahle, too. They have lots of pistons for the 5.9. Now you are gonna have to figure out wich ones you want. I'd use the non/IC version.

I don't even know if you can just go buy the monotherms, I think there is a waiting period.

I am pretty sure the valves are next in line of failure after the pistons.

If you read there ads, it says something like they "virtually eliminate piston failure". So for $3K they still won't guarantee it.
