where to get this dash pod?
#16
The base is of the same molded plastic the pod is made from; I have seen this pod on Fords also but in a different location so the top was probably universal with the bases to fit the particular trucks.
There is no reason you could not use the pod from Summit Racing

Or one from Autometer and mold your own base where you want to put it.
Put some Saran Wrap on your dash and drop a big lump of clay and form out your own base and stick the pod on top, then you could use the clay as a plug to fiberglass over.
You could also use some fiberglass body filler like bondo and make your base.
Check in Hobby Shops for a vacu-form machine, how do you think the bodies for R/C cars are made?
There are a lot of ways you could reproduce a base.

Jim YOU ROCK! I never thought of that, doing the clay thing. I have a good friend here who runs Rick Hendricks (Jeff Gordon #24/ Nascar cars owner fame) collision center here in North Carolina. He could maybe give me some tips on how to mold the fiberglass. I have always liked this pod but like most people have found out it is not available. Thanks Jim for the idea!!
