Whats it take to get 400hp

i agree, with some meth injection i would be over 400hp no problem. I don't have even close to a grand worth of power mods to in my truck.

This isn't about anyones numbers on this thread so no one take it as if im calling you out but it seems that the dyno, dyno operator, how the trucks set up to read rpm and if you use correction factors that will make a huge difference in your RWHP.
I would dare say if youre on a stingy dyno with a guy who doesnt know how to dyno one of these trucks properly vs the exact opposite situation could end in 100 rwhp difference. Throw in correction factor and things are even more spread out.
Not a real point there besides all dyno situations are different so saying one guys truck makes XXX hp and xxx tq, so with the same combo i should expect the same numbers isnt really a good mentality to go into it with. You may be very disappointed.

i understand that i guess it is decision time i like the first gen truck for one reason and that is because not alot of people have them i hate 2nd gens because everyone and there brother has one. maybe 500-600 horse is too much for what i want to spend could i buy a 2nd gen or 3rd gen motor and tranny and swap it or is that out of the question

I prefer the first gen body style so i ditched the engine and went with a p-pumped 24v. No regrets. Makes a nice sleeper and i wouldn't trade it for a new truck.

You can look at my sig to see what I've done. The best I have run is 394 RWHP on #2 and 441 RWHP with W/M injection. My mods have been done over about 15 years so it would be hard to put a price tag on my up grades but rest assured it will not be cheap.
