Oven cleaner is hell in a can, I wouldn't use it if you have ANYTHING other than metal in the way! I'm sure it'd eat a gasket no problem. Get a canister-filter mask and some goggles too.

Years ago Beige was the Cummins color when Dad had his Peterbuilt & I wanted to do this color as a tribute to him. It is also easier to see any leaks with this color.

Wheres the paint?
Thanks for the engine paint info guys. It does bring up a point I been wondering for a while now. My current 03 2500 is my 2nd new Cummins ram. My 96 went to my son. My question is did Dodge or Cummins stop painting the engines at some date? I ask cause my old 96 never looked as bad as my 03 does now. I'd swear it never got a drop of paint from the factory!
I have seen other cummins rams that look same...just rusty castiron red, no paint anywhere. Any ideas?
