what exhust housing to use

picked up a used turbo for my truck 92 2wd auto. its got a 60MM compress on it and a 14 exhaust hsg and I have a 16 exhaust hsg that I picked up awhile a go and have not put it on. witch one would be better so far I have not done any heavy hauling mostly Lathes and mills 1200-4000 lbs I most likely wont do any heavy hauling. I am going to put a bigger air cleaner on it and a 4" exhaust I have done some things to the fuel pump turned the pin and screwed the star wheel down and bumped the timing and that all I am most likely going to do to the pump Ken

I would go with the 16. I was going to get a 14 and was told not to bother by someone that has one. He told me a good ported 12 would do as good if not better then a 14. The 16 will spool faster then your stock one but will help keep your temps in check.

If it already has the 14cm housing on it, I'd just stick with that. The 14cm housings are a rip off if you but them new, only because of their ridiculous price. It won't flow as good as the 16cm, but it will spool a little faster.

With the weight you're hauling, you won't have to worry about it choking though.

Yeah, just leave it as it is. If it's not a wastegated housing you will need to put a bigger one on if you get bigger injectors.

OK I took the turbo a part. I will order a parts kit for it Monday. From what I have read the 16 hsg is the one to use so I am going to use the 16 hsg. turbo looked good in side I need to find my Holset manual for the spec. Found the Parts book right away. I have 4 boxes of turbo manuals from when they closed the shop I worked at 7 years ago I took all the manuals with all my notes I was told to throw them out but they went in to my car. some of the older manuals you just cant find Ken

Use the 14cm

You'll love it and with what little is done to your pump, it won't be too restrictive at all.
