Maybe you have a boost leak. I had a small split in one of mine and the truck would hit 1400. As it stands now with the bombs in my sig plus about a turn on the fuel screw it will not go over 1200-1250. Mind you theres a decent amount of fuel left "untapped" on my truck (more screw turns, more afc fiddlin etc) but I think the line of thinking is relevant.

jrussell how much boost or you getting?

as far as the pyro temp i have only turned my full power scwew only 1/2 a turn and haven't rotated the fuel pin and my pyro will go to 1300* if i let it!

I think your inj are fine as far as efficientce unless you have a ruff idle at startup?

Hi Gordon,

I'm getting 34psi max boost in OD going uphill.

Wow, your temps are high! I see you are non-ic so that is probably one reason. Also, do you have a BHAF (open intake) yet?

The idle is great. I get a little puff of grey smoke usually on startup and a big puff of black before the turbo spools up. Very, very slight smoke under WOT.

I noticed it takes forever for my EGT's to cool-down when parking too. I rarely get all the way down to 300* and usually have to shut it down at around 312*. Not sure if that is normal, but I would never be able to hit 250* after a few hot runs on a hot day...that normal?

I find the same thing, my EGT gauge is mounted overhead though and I've also found that the needel moves a little lower if flicked (hey, I was getting tired of waiting), but I even face the radiator into any breeze to cool the turbo, but a hover at 280-300 is typical on a 75F+ day.

ya it normal, if i'm running hard and stop it take several min to get to 300* and 300 is as low as it gets!!

the boost may be to hi but the intercooler may have a leak leak allso.......is your housing a waste gated housing?

just read your sigh and see that you have a 14 non waste gated

Maybe you intercooler has a leak or maybe it just become inafisent?
with all that you have done you would thing that the egts would be under control

Maybe it time for a water meth injection!

It would take me at least 10-15 minutes to get down to 280 on a 75-80* day. Sounds like maybe that's not normal then?

I'm typically at 800-850* in OD at 70mph on flat ground and that seems pretty normal from what I read.

Automatics take a good bit longer to cool off. Make sure it's in park and the A/C is off. Don't worry about getting below 300, 300 degrees is plenty cool enough.

Us auto guys should really cool off in PRN321 Neutral with the way a518 trannys dont pump much oil in park if we plan on idling for a while.

if your want to cool the tranny them yes, all dodge truck auto's, are that way but if your just being impation, (just kidding with ya)and whating for your turbo to cool, then it will be faster with out the ac and tranny in (P)

Jrussell!...have you run out of $$$ yet ......can i help you spend some more?

Just thinkiing about your egts.... and the intercooler.
there's been several that have fould leaks in there stock intercoolers. we can't expent them to last for ever!

check the clamps first, thay tend to leak with age.

One of those new hi efficient intercooler out there would probably help your egts and hp,(esp in hot wether)now, and help when you add more fuel later.

when I fab an intercooler into mine I'm going to us the one from Piers.....It looks like a pretty good setup to me!!!

They say it's better to bump an existing thread than to make a new one... so BUMP.

Anyway, I looked at all the options that you could buy online, and I didn't come across any dual systems. I was looking around for a nice dual exhaust from the muffler (Yeah, I want a muffler) back. Something that comes out near the rear fenders back at an angle like the Gibson kit for the 94'+ trucks would be awesome. Are there any aftermarket bolt on kits that someone could buy with dual pipes? I can modify the very end of the system to fit my personal taste, but I don't want to go the ricer route and have a stock pipe come into 2 huge tips.... That kind of injustice is reserved for Honda riceboys only.

while searching for a full 4" exhaust [turbo back], I came across one made by bullydog. This product isn't to be found on the bullydog web site, but I found it here...www.autopartswarehouse.com. Is this system available, or has it been discontinued?

Thanks,

bigwhite

Just read this thread now, lots of good info.

From those that have the bigexhaust 4" from DP back kit, how does it sound? Not a big fan of the stock exhaust sound that I have on there now.

I noticed a change in boost with the boost comming on faster almost instant. Getting 25 lbs with out fuel upgrades (that should be done in a week or two) and a good woooosh from the turbo when I get off the throdle.I need help turning up the fuel and a guy will help me at the next bomb party at the end of the month. He said we'll be able to give the trany a good shaking.
