How in the world did they manage to do that to the door? Backing up at full boost with it open? No damage to the cab post?

Did my first ever to a cummins truck water pump change-o in my biz parking lot. Sprung a leak- couldn't see it, not even using the video from my phone, but sure enough, but I suspected water pump, couldn't see it leaking out of a bolt, so suspected the ol' weep hole, and sure enough- it was toast. Super happy at the 54 dollar cost of the pump, in stock, at O'riellys! That was super easy. less than an hour in the parking lot with greasy hands. Teased by locals about getting my hands dirty (I own businesses, supposed to be all buttoned down CEO type, apparently don't fill that niche well looks wise LOL) - I don't know why I am so weirdly happy about the water pump going bad and being so cheap and easy to fix LOL. Guess it doesn't happen enough for me.

I'd be more impressed with a person who has a little grease under their nails and maybe a healing wound on their hand as a CEO, tells me this person is not afraid to get their hands dirty and do the work!

Had this happen going down the interstate in Austin. Locked up and threw belt pieces all over the place. Coasted into O'Reilly's parking lot and got new pump, belt and antifreeze. They let me borrow a belt tensioner which was the only tool I didn't have with me. 20 minutes later we were back on the interstate.

It's a very small town, they all know me, and it's kinda an inside joke since I am a known motorhead. So they agree with you, basically. LOL.

They know if I need some beef, I am down to come help with the harvest.

So, I'm half way to the recycle place, and my truck starts knocking. See other thread for that update, if ever.

I'm on the side of the road, popped the hood, checking oil level, trailer hooked to the back, and these two dudes walk across the street, and start telling me that I have to sell them my truck. I tell them I'm not interested, and they continue to pester me. So now I'm getting peeved, and I tell them I'm not selling it even if the motor is shot, as I have a friend who would buy it in a second.

I just put $6000 into this truck and I'll be dammed to just give it away, as you know that's all people want to do to you.

Like I wasn't under enough stress to begin with.

I tell anyone who asks about buying Patches that I want $250,000...they always say it's not worth that and I totally agree with them, but then I inform them that there is really no other truck out there that I want more than my crewcab. The Only other truck I can possibly think of would be one of these...

Took an oil sample on the 89 to see if it has fuel dilution, sent it to Blackstone labs, results in a couple weeks. Engine vibrates a little off idle & seems to clear up maybe around 1,100 RPM. No tach to really know the RPM.

Installed new tranny lines from PDD. A bit spendy, but I like it.
