Well I get there and he opens with that he couldn't get a seal kit...I thought great now I'll have to find one...well he then hands me a receipt for a complete tear down, polish, hone and seals of the hydraulic cylinder at a local HD hydraulic shop...cost him $750 to get it redone and he stood by our negotiated price and didn't ask me for any additional coin!!

Patches did great as always, but that throw out bearing that has been making noise from time to time for a couple years now is about done. Last 3 hours or so of my drive it was giving me that dry bearing squeal every time I engaged/disengaged the clutch....guess I'm gonna have to do the clutch in it sooner than later.

Thanks I hadn't planned on buying one but I also didn't expect to get my old Coronet back after a 20 year hiatus either! So now I need to store my wagon and the convertible in the same spot in the shop and a 4 post lift seemed the best way to go.

The new off shore units that were in my budget range just aren't built that well IMO, and I got this one considerably cheaper than those units and it's a made in USA unit....and built well. Will require one small repair...one of the cable pulley shafts got bent, not sure if it was when we were loading it and the column slid and banged together pretty hard, or was damaged during disassembly? Regardless think it will be an easy fix, just a new shaft and good to go! Few other small issues but nothing I can't tackle for next to nothing, just invest a bit of time.

What year Coronet or have you already discussed that elsewhere? (Seems like it but...)

I cry every time I see my car in these old photos

And there's not a chance I'll ever see it again, as the guy who I sold it to got it for the driveline, and most likely scrapped the rest.

I needed the money to start my business, 20 years ago in March of 2023

  1. looks to be a 68.Formula S? I had one also.340/tf buckets, console maroon/ black interior.fun fun dead stock with my wife driving ran14.02@99 and terrorized those fox bodies and z28/firebirds on Hwy99 back in the 80s.Also had 2 70 superbees which I think were the meanest looking mopar muscle ever.Both hemi orange/black int.383 column shift TF 3.23s The 70 bees were $1700 & $1500 one bought in 1971 and the other in 1984.Ended up selling them in 2000 for a bit more

'68 from the round marker lights.

I had a '67 Formula S fastback that was an original 273 Commando manual transmission. When I bought it, it was a 511" 440 with a solid Crane cam custom ground to run with the 6 pack. Fenderwell Hookers. Bought that for $1300. Bought it for the engine and 4 speed for the Bee. Never did swap.

My very last race car was a 71 duster that was an ex prostock car from a team in seattle. Round tube srut front,square tube firewall to rear bumper. glass hood doors trunk Hemi split doms crashbox 4 spd 5,13 Dana 9.50s @140.As fun as it was it's a black hole of money and you can't shovel fast enough.

Good S&W revolvers go up in value don't they? Race cars.............not so much.

Now my P model Rugers are going for stupid money. I sold 2 a couple of years ago. They're worth $200 over what I paid for them off Gunbroker.

Since weather has been directed to freeze the precipitation on us this upcoming week, I figured it was time to get the plow brackets back on.

New bolts, brackets newly powder coated, and sitting on my butt for several hours aligning it all up. Today, Hopefully I can finish.


Bumper is pretty much ready to go get powder coated for the second time in it's life.

Fun, fun fun.
