I rebuilt the lower portion of the steering shaft on the Cummins RamCharger, new parts and new grease, and plenty of never sieze during the reassembly. It should be good for another 10 years or until the body falls off the Cummins...

If you click on my profile, you go to the "statistics" section, and it will bring up all the writings on these trucks I've done. That and a bit more, but you can ignore the silly stuff.
Here you go. I didn't invent it, but I was (and still am) so glad I did it. Today, I've improved my welding skills, so the crappy welds wouldn't be there if I did it tomorrow.

FF,
You find that trim on many of the hoods of the pre 91 trucks. From '91-'93 they went to having the DODGE lettering in the chrome grill itself.

I like that emblem on the hood, although you're right I've only seen them on the earlier rides.
Truck is good looking, but I'm not sure about how well it was taken care of, as they did so much "shining" on the undercarriage, it's hard to tell.
I like virgin, untouched trucks, just like homes. No renovations, please !

I used to be here several hundred times a day, back when this place was hopping mad. The site became infiltrated with several "bad" apples who created a facebook environment, which I'm sure you're familiar with.
I left because of lack of interest, but more importantly, the lack of participation on the site. Why post photos, projects, ideas, fixes if no one even responds or comments, or appreciates all the legwork.
Pretty much a crawl now, but at least every 3 or 4 weeks someone posts.
Everywhere I go, I get "love the truck, dude !" words thrown at me.
The other day, on my way back from the dump, I pulled into the Wawa, as my dog was screaming at me that he wanted his "Croissant". I mean, you have no idea what I go though if I forget the 14 year old "Chee-zoo", and his croissant. 290 calories of light and airy love to the boy. I took too long at the dump getting rid of all the waste, that when I started back home, the growling started, then the yipping, then the "dude, I'm gonna mess you up" looks from him, I had no choice but to stop and pay the ransome. Nothing worse than a toothless old bag of farts to mess up your day.

Yes familiar with the Facebook page of really stupid Q&A stuff. Irritated at being on that site. People post what's for sale, so i answer them with "Mine" "1992 W250" They all talk big and have grand plans! But never follow thru.
And by the way my 1992 W250 is still for sale! Way cheaper than than that eBay polish job! Not near as shiny but way cheaper!
Just can't stand the thought of letting it go to someone that really doesn't know what they got if they owned it!

I looked at the eBay ad. Place selling it is in Florida but the fine print says delivery/ shipping location Missouri. Didn't look like Florida terrain when i looked. Seems hokey to me. But would love to have the automatic and cream puff that one seems to be! I know looks may be deceiving!
Good thing they didn't just oil coat the whole underbelly! No telling the leak origin then!

My truck is an 89 and has the Dodge badge on the hood. I updated the grille to an aftermarket one without the badge so mine looks like that. I still have the 89 radiator support and all with no intercooler. The headlights had to be relocated to fit. Was a fun job when I did it but I wouldn't care to repeat it.

Wife used my truck to carry cages with a bunch of ducks to local farm auction and got $70 each duck. Surprising to me. And she's going next thursday with 10 more.

Today I put a 195 degree Stant in Penny. At -20 idling, the gauge went almost to half. I couldn’t believe it. I actually turned the heater to low on the drive home. And shut off the heated seat. It was awesome!!!!! Maybe I’ll hook up the grid heater tomorrow if I get my ice shack finished.

Just got back yesterday from a 29 hour/1950 km rounder to get a 4 post lift, trip there was pretty good but once I got it loaded and as soon as I fueled up a storm came sweeping in, the whole drive back was lots of snow, freezing rain, wicked winds, glazed ice roads, and poor visibility which made it take 3-4 hours longer than planned....but I did manage to get a total of 2 hours of sleep during the trip so I had that going for me..I was a mess!
Now what I got...It's an Older made in USA Lift King 8000lbs unit and clearly been used but for the price I couldn't pass. The hydraulic cylinder was leaking and during our price negotiations he agreed that a new seal kit would be provided. Well I get there and he opens with that he couldn't get a seal kit...I thought great now I'll have to find one...well he then hands me a receipt for a complete tear down, polish, hone and seals of the hydraulic cylinder at a local HD hydraulic shop...cost him $750 to get it redone and he stood by our negotiated price and didn't ask me for any additional coin!!
Patches did great as always, but that throw out bearing that has been making noise from time to time for a couple years now is about done. Last 3 hours or so of my drive it was giving me that dry bearing squeal every time I engaged/disengaged the clutch....guess I'm gonna have to do the clutch in it sooner than later.
Tucked in the shop and warming up and drying out..

well, now. If a black duck with a shotgun shows up at your door named Daffy, you better watch out. His buddy Elmer is right behind him . and he's not one to mess with.
