I finally got around to replacing the king pins in my Cummins RamCharger. I should have done this 10 years ago when I built this truck from the remains of a 1993 W250 and a 1991 RC.

BHD,
That grease doesn't look much like the crimson red grease I use...Yuck
Should be good to go for years to come now.

Oliver,
After I did that job, 90% of the front end vibrations disappeared!

That rust brown grease is native to Appalachia....

Yesterday, new multi switch, volt reg, air cleaner and a tear down and cleanup assessment of the gauge cluster for next steps. I will get it apart later to change the fuel gauge, get new OD gears in, and paint the needles. Bench test showed speedo fine so I went underneath and changed out the almost new sending unit on the T case; bad on my for once again trusting new senders and jumping to the conclusions.

Today (or maybe tomorrow), valve adjustment and oil change.

New automatic belt tensioner and drivers side door lock mechanism; it was a long wait for one of them. Good to have a door that shuts right and doesn’t make a hassle to open after being locked.

Got my truck back from the shop with good brakes the other day. They bled the system with a pressure bleeder and got any air out of the system. Now just need to get it paperwork legal and inspected then I can finally drive it again.
