Nice Ride! Welcome! See the palm trees in your pics. Curious what part of the Great State you are in?

Fuel issue solved (fingers crossed)
I ran the tank down past 1/2 full without starting issues so I hope the issue is solved. After I cut a hole in the bed and took out the pickup/heater/gauge assembly I found a handful of crud plugging the screen on the end of the pickup tube. I put in some strips and welded them to the sides of the hole then I used threaded inserts in then strips to make a removable cover in case it happens again.
Then it was on to replacing the alternator in the wife's Equinox. It made me appreciate how open everything is to work on the Cummins.

I just pulled my speedometer due to it not working. Those little gears are stripped so I ordered some more from Amazon. I hope it gets it back working. I also turned in my fuel screw 1 turn, It gave it a noticeable increase in throttle response and a slightly higher idle speed.

Grant,
Depending on how much you turn in the fuel screw and what your idle was at before it is standard practice to lower the idle after turning in the fuel screw.

To each their own, of course. I wanted to get away from the big and dated look of the OEM lights and their typical replacements.
To date, the only incandescent bulbs left on the truck are those in the message center and the glove box light. I'll get to replacing them at some point. At least they're infrequently used.

Finally put in the hx35 that I bought and rebuilt. Wish I had the time to do the exhaust at the same time, but at least most of the bolts are broke loose.
I was under the impression that I could keep the wastegate, but it wouldnt clear the oil return line, so I'll have to fab up a spring gate maybe? Its wired shut currently, but I'd like to have some control of it in the future.
Also, your wife may appreciate the fumes of curing paint in the kitchen, mine did not. BBQ next time

What size is the turbine on an HX-35? I cobbled together a WH1C for my rig. I used a boost fooler to set the WG to open at about 34 psi boost. That was before I replaced the VE with one that was set to stock. I don't need the power right now but I probably will when we drag this 5th wheel to Okiehoma. So Steve we can look forward to tweaking both of our pumps. There is extensive info in the stickies to review.
