PArking brake, Spare tire and diff lube
Today I topped off the differential lube since some leaked out from bad seals since my last change. Then I went about trying to put the spare tire back up under the bed. I used a floor jack and a hydraulic jack and 2x4 trying to get the tire on the crossbeam. No dice. Eventually the wife suggested the spare be put in the bed and chained down with a padlock. So I need to go get a D-ring to chain it down with. Also took some of the slack out of the parking brake cable now that the self adjusters seem to have got themselves sorted out. Now I'm thinking about whether I want to go wash the truck or wait until spring.

painted the exhaust housing of the new turbo with some vht flameproof paint. had it on the truck for 2 days and it started rusting just sitting in the garage, so i painted it to prevent that from happening. curing it in the oven as i speak.

Looks nice. Is that the rattle can stuff from the local parts store or is that something higher grade?

I just ordered the parts to install a 16K rated 5th wheel hitch in my truck. Also the 7 way plug and the brake controller. Should be here Friday so guess what I'll be doing this weekend. I called around a few places to get one installed but the cost they want is totally unreasonable. I can drill holes and twist wrenches just as well as they can and keep the extra $1,300. The hitch and parts cost a little over $700.

That seems a little much to charge for the labor involved, Edwin.
You will be towing that new RV around in style soon.

Hahaha.... yeah thinking about an open lean to off the far side of the shop, at least be able to park the car trailer, skid steer and Sno-ball out of the weather...and give me a bunch more storage for other things as well.

I forgot that this weekend is "yard sale" weekend (we only get four a year) so the install will be put off some. After that we have to go get the RV which the dealer is storing for us on their lot and take it to the RV park where we will live for the next six or eight months. Escrow on this house closes on the 15th.
