There is supposedly a ppump truck in the local yard untouched. I keep debating if it is worth the trip down to see if it is still untouched to pull the drive train.

Finally got my injectors from The Hungry Diesel. Installed them over the weekend and that seems to have taken care of the knock, still need to get it out and road test it.
Boy did those original injectors look rough, all sorts of carbon built on the tips.

Got a 150ish miles on the new injectors and boy does the truck feel different. So much more responsive to throttle input. Definitely didn't realize how tired it felt before until driving with the new injectors.
Does have a slight haze when I lay into it while the turbo spools but it is the slightest tinge of black smoke, seen plenty of other trucks smoking a lot worse.

What is your EGT doing? With more fuel you will need more air.

If you are not using a fuel additive, I'd recommend a mix of 3/4 Power service (white bottle) to 1/4 Diesel Kleen (gray bottle), then mix that with an equal amount of Walmart SuperTek 2 cycle oil. I run a pint per tank full or a quart in my 70 gallon transfer tank.

no idea as I do not have gauges. I was told that this injector set should not significantly effect egts.

The injectors I took out were the factory originals with almost 150k on them. They were also 27 years old at this point. I am sure the damage was done before I got the truck but I typically run power service gray every couple tanks.

Speaking of injectors, what are the pros and cons of new injectors vs having mine rebuilt with new tips? My truck sits for most of the time so I could pull them and send them off if necessary. Anyone have a recommendation of a good rebuilder?

Edwin

Couple of years ago salvaged a Warn Winch bumper from a 65 PW for the 91. Thought it would drop right in. No, the 65 frame rails were 2" wider. Made it fit. The bolt holes on the side of the frame on the 65PW matched my 91 so fitting the bumper was easy.
Now I needed an old winch to fill the void in the bumper.
My wife recently bought a 05 Jeep Liberty, Diesel. The first owner replaced the front bumper with winch bumper that held a T-Max 9000 winch. My wife hated the bumper, So traded her my labor for building a new bumper for the Liberty and I get the T-Max. Only had to buy the corded remote, $12.

Scout4bta - I love those old warn bumpers, wish I could find one for mine. I have a 2005 diesel KJ too BTW.

Installed the new gear reducer that was built for my truck.

Speedo is now reading the right speed and trans is shifting in OD when it should.

I just missed out on winning a CRD Kj through Copart last week. I stopped at $1200 it went for around $2000, Needed a hood and grill is all.
Going to look at a 6.5 burban later this week, see if the Detroit makes a nice compliment to the 12 valve.

Truck related got my power steering seal kit and a new air filter in. Just need to find a day to get in the garage.

I haven't spent too much time around those CRD Jeeps, all I know is they sound like a Kubota when straight piped.

What compliments do you expect the 6.5L GM to give the 12v CTD???
