What did you do to your Gen 1 today?

It is safer here than most places in the US, statistically. There has been some cartel activity in Hermosillo, but they tend to take each other out, of course with some collateral damage, I think that it is paradise, but as nice as it is, I avoid August here because of the humidity. June was absolutely beautiful, not too bad so far in July. It is never hot when you are out on the sea. This is real Mexico, much different than the border area. I made friends with a young guy here several years ago, his parents have a food store. He was elected unanimously to Mayor of Kino. He is 26 years old and a very nice young man. Regardless of what people think, things are changing down here politically, driven by the young. Come on down and we can go get us a Marlin, photos only, then we will release it. We use non-stainless hooks so that they dissolve in the salt water...Mark

Last little while I have been getting "the death wobble" when hitting some sagging section on the down hill road from our place....not too bad but enough to cause me some concern. Today out and about with my daughter and it happened 3-4 times in town.... Decided to crawl under the truck and see what was going on.
Well turns out the pitman shaft on my steering box is leaking, and the nut started to back off on the pitman arm and allow a bunch of slop, also my steering shaft couple is worn out again, and the drag link is starting to get weak. So tightened up the pitman arm nut and put in a rockauto order for a new drag link, steering coupler rebuild kit and a re-seal kit for the pitman shaft on the steering gear. Should get things back in shape.

Wipers quit in brief shower this weekend, luckily just few blocks from the house. Been having electrical issues here and there, no horn, dimmer switch broke etc. Brights work but you have to hold the switch, so i was thinking great the whole shabang is gone associated with that one switch. Turns out the wiper motor was running (couldn't hear it with the Cummins ginning!)but the plastic bushing on the linkage from motor broke! Cool ! $4 part and a 30 min fix!

Yea I replaced all of the bushings 5 years ago when I started driving it daily. It is a puzzle when several go at one time!!! But I'm learning, bought extras!!!

I've got a dimmer switch in the classifieds (plus other stuff), any or all of it for the cost of shipping. The stuff is headed to the trash if no one wants it.

Alcatraz Island
Found this old pic that I took a year ago June as a hurricane was moving in.. This pic is lower quality for bad internet purposes, but this is where I run and spend a bunch of my time down here...Mark

In case you didn't know, alcatraz means Pelican in Spanish. This island used to be covered in Pelican graffiti, guano. Completely white. There used to be thousands of Pelicans here, but now I see maybe 40-50 at most and none at all in some months. I am sure that it is not related to anything nefarious ...Mark
