I took the family out in the white crew cab for an adventure yesterday for Father's Day. We hit several fishing holes, road along 50+ miles of back dirt roads winding along rivers and mountains.
We then finished up the day having sushi out at a little outdoor bar where you can bring your dog [even if she is 170#s]. My Dad met us at the sushi bar and ate really well, which is good to see as he is still looking a little thin after his cancer treatment two year ago.
I ended up the day driving Charlotte to the first day of her job watching a little farm down the road as the family is on a road trip for the next 10 days. She has 30 layer chickens, a dozen or so sheep with spring lambs, and a bunch of sassy geese to keep track of along with a bunch of veggies and berry bushes to make sure are watered.
Good times had by all.

I’m back at it again with my last load. We got lucky, and the insurance is covering the wife’s car, on the engine fire damage. We just have to pay the deductible Apparently, the high pressure fuel pump blew a seal, shooting gas onto the turbo, which then melted the wiring harness, valve cover, coil packs etc. She should be getting her car back this week, then loading up the kids and following behind me. For now, it’s just my boxer (Buddy) and I. Hoping to make Amarillo tonight, then check my routes and decide if I want to take the 44 through Tulsa again, or explore a little. Still need to scale this pig. It feels heavier, but my weight balance in the trailer is spot on. No wiggly jiggly on the rear this time. Well, back on the road. Here we are, crossing the Colorado River.

Buddy’s goal is to go #2 in every state.

On a side note, happy belated to all of you Dads out there, from my twins. It takes a lot to keep these trucks in tip top shape, maintain a 9-5 and save enough time for the family. I know that we make hard sacrifices to our own health and sleep schedule sometimes, just to get it all done. Even as we get old, we never stop being “Dad”. And to stay on topic, I got my LF caliper and hose replaced in Gallup. Other than that, she’s doing pretty well.

I know how you feel I made 4 bonzai rounders up north, 26 hours with maybe an hour snooze, with the crewcab loaded up and a borrowed utility trailer with just my vehicle related guffage. Loaded it all in a small storage unit.
Glad your on the last trip...be nice to "relax" and I use the term loosely....;

Gave my old dog a face lift courtesy of the Ram Charger parts truck I bought.
Also put new stock wheels and stock size tires as well as taking all the wiper linkage, arms and pivots off the RC and installed them on the Power Wagon.
I am currently doing ball joints on the Power Wagon.

That blows Dave,
I hate to see old Dodge sheetmetal that is solid dented up.
At least it looks like a slow hit and I am assuming you are fine...RIGHT?

I'm sore, but OK. I drove the truck home. Hood looks OK, but won't open. Had the best condition grill I ever had......clean fender, beautiful bumper. Thought it would be worse.

I really didn't notice or care. The house that the wreck happened, had security cameras. The owner camera out with pics on his phone and showed it to the troopers, and clearly showed she was on my side of the road.

That is good, as proving who did what can be a pain sometimes.
At least you should get some decent insurance money from her to fix up the old girl.
Last time I was hit by a kid in my lane, the responding police officer was a new young guy and couldn't decide whose faulty it was...He said it was both our faults as speed was a factor.
Which was bull, the kid was speeding DOWN a hill in MY lane around a blind turn. The police officer was so green, I had to help him light the road flairs.....UGGGH!
My '01 was totaled by the insurance company. I bought it back, fixed it up, drove it for years, then sold it to a friend locally and still see it on the road all the time.
If you need any of the larger parts AND I have room in the rig, I can bring them to the Carlisle show...Show field parts delivery WITH a cold beer!
I know I have a MINT gasser core support left over from my '89 RC from AZ that has been 12V swapped... some nice '89 style grilles which are different than I will guess '85 grille on your truck.

Thanks Oliver! This is an '81, and I have a pretty good (not as nice as) '84 grill. Got a couple core supports,a fender that needs a little work, but I don't have that style bumper, but I'll get new. Carlisle is out this year though.
