I've been pricing 100% antifreeze of the ethylene glycol type but the best price I've found is $12.75/gallon. I heard it takes 5 gallons but I haven't consulted my FSM yet.

I'm only half kidding. Actually I think it's a good idea. Especially with an aluminum radiator. You need extra corrosion protection. A good engine flush would be good also but with plain water and not any chemicals.

I usually have to ask where they keep the pure glycol anti-freeze....not near the 50/50 mix stuff usually.

Yeah you're right, but I have to admit that pouring a 50-50 mix together is kind of tough and some people just don't have the skills. On a less non-serious note, I have a friend that is a hard working state employee that has made a good life for himself on not a great salary, scrimping and saving . His parents passed away and left him, let's say rich. I figured that he would continue being thrifty. Boy was I wrong, he will drop the money to not have to do anything, regardless of price. I have to say, I don't blame him...Mark

One advantage to the 50/50 mix is that if you drink it you die half as fast.
AGAIN! This is a joke.

Kinda sorta, Texas will be the biggest culture change for sure. I grew up in NE, trained in Cali in the USMC, stationed in NC for 2.5 years, 1 year in Iraq, and now 7.5 years in MN and I’m only 28. Who knows where I’ll end up settling down.

So what advantage does running pure antifreeze give? I need to change my coolant. I plan to drain and fill with pure distilled water and drive it for a day or so that way and then drain again and fill with coolant. I'm now intrigued by this thing of not adding water to antifreeze.

It's a bit more expensive but replacing a radiator will eat up the savings real fast.

This is true. It also boils sooner than a mix. Here's the wikipedia article that tells everything you never wanted to know about it:
