I bet it is the proper NP-205 that should be under that truck, even with the "I swapped in a 47 RH story".
Just google "NP-205 Cummins 12V" and check out what that looks like.
After checking out the hundred or so pictures that will instantly come up, proceed from there.
The NP-205 rear output seal typically leaks, usually the rear yoke loosens up over time making the problem worse.

I agree with Oliver, it is probably an NP205, post up a pic of it, it will be pretty obvious...Mark

I know it is a 47rh as it has torque converter lock up.

Thank you for helping me figure out what transfer case I have. That definitely is a shiny, new 4” exhaust! I still need to add an inch to my downpipe to push the second piece back a little. Maybe it wouldn’t affect flow to put a dent in the pipe to clear the transmission crossmember, but it makes me feel better to just add an inch. I didn’t pay $300 for the mandrel bent system from Diamond Eye to put dents in it.
Also, if the yoke causes problems on these do I need to do something besides just the seal to make it quit leaking? I don’t want to replace the seal just to have it go bad again.

I don't know about the transfer case but I had a seal leak once because the U-joints were bad and shaking the pinion back and forth. I replaced the seal but the new one leaked just as bad. until I replaced the U-joint.

I plan to look at the u-joints while I have the rear driveline off and replace if needed. I don’t think that just replacing u-joints would fix it though as the seal leaks out fluid if I even have the truck on a steep enough incline.

Did something I never thought I would have to do today.
I was parked outside last night and the temperature got down to 6*F overnight. I've lived in central Texas my whole life and have never experienced single digit temperatures.
I had my block heater plugged in but my fuel gelled up and my trusty engine stopped cold on me after firing it up this morning and was deader than a door nail.
So, I made a trip into town in the wife's P.O.S. and got some Diesel 9-1-1 and a new fuel filter. After much cranking and bleeding (both the fuel system and my vascular system) she finally came back to life.
I thought this was something only you Yankees and Canucks had to deal with.
