I also took a 1 year 3 hour machine shop class at the same trade school. I love those machines.
The Eico VTVM was standard as well as Eico Oscilloscopes and Simpson VOM's. We had good stuff for those days.

No I only have the one battery. If I move to colder area I may consider doubling up but my engine has excellent compression and fires on the first cylinder that rolls over hot or cold even down below freezing.

Was doing a delivery the other night and heard a 1st gen driving behind me....turned around and saw a short wheel base truck and thought..."Cool a Ramcharger conversion". Then took a second look and realized it was an extended cab, short box with a canopy. Truck was red with a white/silver stripe, looked like at least a 4" lift, and a white canopy, may have had 3rd Gen rims? I have never seen that truck around town before.....so maybe it was passing through, but cool none the less.

And he didn't flag you down ? What's wrong with people ? Just because it's -100C doesn't mean you can't stand around and look at people's engines on the side of the road, eh ?

Started Snowmageddon here about 4 hours ago.
These weather people love to exaggerate. It's a winter, it's snowing, and there is WIND !!! Oh, my god ! Wind during a snow storm !!!!!
The world is ending !!! Global Cooling has started !!! We're all going to die a bunch of frozen Popsicles !!!!!
anyway, I'll be plowing the 6" to 10" predicted here, although who knows what we'll really get......... until it actually happens.

Today I adjusted the idle. Used a friend's tach that hooks to the #1 injector line to set the rpm. It was at 72x in park and 62x in gear before. I read somewhere on here that it should be about 750 in gear with the a/c on. So I used a screw driver and a hammer and knocked the lock-nut loose and then adjusted it some. Once the lock-nut was loose I was able to just pull the throttle back and turn the screw from the front of the pump. I tried getting a screwdriver in the back, but couldn't. The idle is now at 73x in gear and 83x in park or neutral. Sounds much healthier when stopped with it in gear. Sounds a little high when in park or neutral, but I know there have been others say that theirs was about the same. I am going to order a Diamond Eye 4" turbo back exhaust today. Was hoping to spend the money on Autometer Z-Series pyro and trans temp gauges, but the stock exhaust bounced and got smashed where it goes over the axel. That is probably a result of the previous owner putting a glass pack in place of the stock muffler and not putting any of the rear hangers back on. The only hanger is the one at the end of the down pipe now. There is a piece of wire holding the very end of the tail pipe up right now though. Still lets it bounce though. I'll have to pick up some hangers to put the new exhaust on when it gets here.

After reading a week or two ago regarding idle speed, I confirmed my "missed" assumption that my truck runs at 950rpm in gear. It indeed does run at 750rpm while in gear, defrost / a/c on.
Runs very well, indeed.
If you're creative, you can buy a cheapo 10mm combination open / box end wrench, heat and bend it to work on the low idle nut. A little bending and grinding, and you can make a standard 10mm wrench fit.

I use a 10mm ignition wrench on mine and a curved dentists pick to turn the screw using the hole through the screw.
