Also the is the hood alignment stops. You need to trim the lip off the back side of the reinforment plates on the under side of the hood.
Other then that it's a direct bolt on....as long as you have a matching cowl cover too.

Keep in mind that there is issue with the hood latch if using the intercooler rad support. The metal bar on the hood does not align with the latch. I had to move the latch over a bit to get things to line up. Think I had to "dimple" the underside of the the hood to clear the latch as well.

I read somewhere to use the 72 to 79 hood latch and the swap goes a little easier.
I went through your thread last weekend looking for how you did yours Thanks for the info.
There is a really nice 70s crew cab that showed up around town about two weeks ago. It has the bird bath with the POWER WAGON emblems. It needs a Cummins though.

Put in a bottle of 911 and changed fuel filter on side of road. Guess -24 was abit to much for the amount of additive I had in it. Of course that was after sitting outside for 6 days. Just think, it is spring now

I replaced the coolant filter on my truck today and wiped the dust off the valve covers.
Has anyone ever tried a Coffin Muffler on their Cummins?

The latch mechanism bolts down inside the rad support, with just the jaws extnding up. You would have to cut and weld in new brackets and supports I'd you wanted to use this mechanism.
At least that is what I found.

I looked at this, but the latching system used on the 72-79 trucks is the same basic system used on all early mopars.

That is when it stops raining. We are in a liquid drought now.

Sound proofed (Fatmat) the cab behind the seat and added 1/2" olefin carpet pad over that.
Mounted rear speakers, made a harness(from a spool of wire laying around) and hooked them up.
