Took a 2 hour ride today, by myself. Realized its time for new tires, so my next venture begins.
Best 3 days of weather here, ever. Best spring ever...

I washed off a few weeks of California crud. We don't get rain so the smog just collects on the paint and has to be scrubbed off periodically. Also the sap from the trees and the occasional bird or bug that decides that my truck looks like a good place for a dump.
Nice and clean now for about 24 hours.

Installed the piston lift pump kit from OFI that had been on the shelf for months. Then installed the new 5x12s from Dieseltuff. Runs great, smoother, more power, but I do have some pump adjusting to do until I get the VGT installed. It will take a few days for the ribs to recover from leaning over the fenders for so long!

Today, I put new skins on the brick. Had summer only tires on there, but zero traction had me toss them with 50 % treadlife left on them. Decided to try Cooper adventurer HT. Had good reviews, and will be a great 3 season tire, for when I don't need my snow only skins on
Love the ride of new skins..

BTW,
Spoke to Edwin today from commiefornia. Nice fella.
Sent me a free gift, but being from NJ I was afraid to open it until I spoke to him first. You never know what you get in the mail, these days, from crazy folks out there.
Good talking to ya, Mr. Edwin...
My new skins I was picking up at Pep Boys when you called. Never owned Coopers, but the reviews were very good, so I took the chance. With the rebate I paid $630 for them. M&B, but they reused the original valve stems, per my request, as they're the steel HD type.

I have been running Coopers on my trucks/jeeps for the last 30 years. Those are nice looking tires, I hope they work out well for you. I used to like the Armstrong Norseman tires, but changed to Coopers when the Norseman's where discontinued.

I never heard of PAP Boys until I moved to SoCal about 40 years ago. Had Coopers before, they're pretty good. I just read about a proposal for Single Payer health care in CA. Eventually SoCal will be desert again cause nobody can afford to live here.
