Are you going to use the boot that came in the kit? I tried one like that on my jeep but the pivot is too far from the floor. I ended up making one out of Marine vinyl but it didn't hold up as long as I hoped it would. The next one will be leather. Looks like I need to get some leather needles for my Big azz sewing machine.

The one that came with the kit is pretty chintzy. Cheap crappy chinese plasticized "rubber". It's gonna end up in the misc. random parts box. There is a made-in-USA rubber twin stick boot from several vendors for around $30 shipped that is supposed to be pretty good. I'll probably try one of those first. I'm going to use the stock shifter boot from the Getrag.
I don't have any boots yet. I probably will just make a set. I screwed up a couple months ago, there was a nice ladies coat at the thrift store that was the right color to match my interior. I should have bought it.
I could have got enough leather for both boots. oh well hind sight is 20/20 vision.

Today, I was pretending I was driving a dual cowl phaeton, and someone forgot to put the bonnet down....
I dropped my hood back off to the painter, as a bubble appeared on the one side. Actually, it was shaped like a beer can ring of bubbles Really wierd as to how a beer can bottom shape would bleed through the new paint from last year.
oh well.....

I see a 2nd gen truck in Harrisburg PA now and then that has what appear to be actual 5 chime locomotive air horns in the bed mounted on a toolbox looking thing. Takes up a lot of bed space but, boyo, you should hear it echo off the buildings downtown . Makes people on the sidewalks jump! Also pretty good for drowning out thunder bunnies.

Put your money where your mouth is...and show me the statue, as I couldn't find anything online regarding this. I'll even provide you the link.... it's under "title 39", if it exists...

The most they would give a ticket for is "failure to make repairs", or if they really wanted to bust me, they would be able to say "inhibiting full view out the windshield (blocking my field of vision) because of the hinges. .... not like anyone in NJ drives around with crap all over their windshields

A year in Jail ? Really ? I believe you're making this up.... NJ doesn't even check for mechanical issues (other than emissions) during inspections any longer, you think anyone would care about a missing hood.

How in the world did you know that I'm a peanut butter fan ???
Actually, I by the all natural peanut butter from Costco. It's a little less tasty, and you have to mix it with a blender / mixer, and then put it in the fridge, otherwise you cannot eat it.... you'd have to drink it.
Much healthier for you, from what I understand, but not quite as tasty...

Started my "every three year killing myself under my truck" routine
Reason #1 NOT to use Rustoleum products, if you live in the salt belt.
I guess the Rust Converter I sprayed the frame with "sort of" worked. The rust is on top, but black below ?? Going with an epoxy paint this time, after again, treating the frame with a rust converter..
Did ya ever do this for 5.5 hours in 90* F weather ?
At almost 50 years old ?
I'm getting too old for this crapola

Try cleaning it off and using POR 15. I love the stuff. Just be sure to wear gloves, because when it dries it will be there until the skin comes off, Lol.
I use it on all my frames. Just make sure to use only where the sun does not hit it. Underneath is great.
