And if I had the sense that I have now, back when I was 18, I'd be out there as well....
Drove around a bit today. Went past the Freighshaker dealer and the Habib freight tool place as well. Bought nothing, but looked anyway.
Picked up some cedar T & G and made this planter box for a customer of mine. Needs his replaced....
Met up with a new neighborhood straggler. Man, for a guy my age, I sure get a lot of putty tats around.....
lol

Got my longer spring shackles on the front leafs tonight after work. While I had it on stands I noticed a little play in the right front wheel bearings, guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.

T-man,
I am really impressed with all of your work, the planter looks nice too bad it will be full of dirt.
Does your Harbor Freight small nasty when you walk in or is it just California, smells like stinky rubber or something.
Jim

Yes. Every Habib Freight smells like a chemical factory that should be shut down for environmental violations. In sure I ts because any item purchased there is full of Chinese toxic sludge, and you know how much we live for cheap toxic sludge.
Reminds me of the chemical storage room back in high school.

Thanks Jim. The planter will rot away and my work will be trash in about 10 years. If I'm still here, the rich folks will pay me another $700 to build another. Lol

This morning I did front wheel bearings on my boss's 91.5. Then i put some new mirrors on my old goat. I've been tired of the 2nd gen tow mirrors I installed shaking so much and had to do something different before those heavy things completely cracked my doors out. So I came across these junior west coast mirrors and thought I'd try them. I had to trim some off the bottom bar, as well as extend the top one out because they are designed for an old school rig with more of a flat door profile.

Got "new" tires on the truck this weekend. Hauled in the new tire and old wheels for my daily to get swapped around. While there asked if they had anything that would fit the truck. They had a set of cooper at3s that were removed from a local companies truck for light cupping on one tire. They have probably 75% tread left on them, and in nice shape overall. For the 70 bucks they charged me to buy and put them on I am happy for the time being. The truck is very happy with the purchase as the severe pull to the right has been eliminated and the severe jarring going over bumps has diminished thanks to these tires. Will have to keep an eye out for abnormal wear even though the front end components seemed sturdy when I was under there.
