I was ribbing him as he has been painting everything Yellow on his build so far.
He admitted on another thread today,that he had 20 or so more spray paint cans in yellow so expect to see more of it.
The yellow NV-4500 is my favorite so far.

starting my rear disc brake conversion tonight, gonna get the hubs off and the drums removed and then test fit the rotors to the hubs.

I actually left it rust colored. At about 0300 this morning I figured I needed it done more than I needed it pretty.
It was also covered with cutting oil from drilling the 21/32" and 7/16" holes in it. Don't worry...I'll paint the next thing yellow for ya! Maybe when I put the 3.07 rears under it...

I have a Struck mini dozer (MT6000) and I've built most of the attachments for it. Tractor Supply carried Valspar Tractor paint and Equipment Yellow was the closest match to the dozer. I was halfway through a project and went to TSC to buy some more of the paint. I discovered that they had discontinued carrying Valspar and is was on clearance for 75% off. Worked out to about $2 a can. I bought what they had left. It's pretty rugged paint and I like using it for projects.

I have read a lot of good comments on Valspar equipment paint. Too bad TSC dropped it. I know Lowes sells Valspar but am not sure About the industrial line.

You will love the 3.07 / NV-4500 gearing combo, if you are thinking about great mileage at highway speeds.
If you are planning on a lot of around town / towing heavy, you may not like the big jump from 3rd to 4th.
My Crew cab with that gearing does 82 MPH at 2000 RPM, and gets 23 MPG around town.
I just use the black crew for summer daily driver duty and road trips.
I have another Cummins truck for the heavy tow work.

It'd be nice to be able to tow anything in sight but realistically it might see 10K worth of car and trailer once or twice a year. My wife's camper weighs around 3K and if she upgrades it probably won't be more than 6-7k. That might get towed 5 or 6 times a year. The 3.07's will probably work out pretty well for me. If I don't like 'em I'll put 3.54's under it. I'm going to run the 4.10's for now and see how I like them. I'm pretty sure they're going to wind out too soon for me. I figure with the 3.07's I can tow in 4th at highway speed and not be turning super high RPM's. Most of the feed back I've gotten on 5speed/3.07's has been positive.

Today I replaced the broken plastic rod ends on the throttle linkage with metal ones from Cummins. I also moved the the throttle linkage post to the inner hole on the injection pump.

I would probably go 3.07's as well...if it were not for the special axles need to house those gears. If we could get a 3.07, or there about gear, that would fit in the regular DANA axle, that would be ideal.

I thought those were obsolete. I had even looked at metric rod ends to replace the plastic ones.

4th at 60 MPH is 2K RPM with 235 tires. 5th at 60 MPH is right around 1600 RPM.

I believe you use the rod end repair kit for a 2nd Gen?

I don't know. I was looking for just the rod ends to go on my existing rod. McMaster Carr has them.
What started the search was I was on their website looking for shoulder bolts for my twin stick conversion and it sort of mutated into the rod ends
