Got the cab painted and put it up on the lift to keep it up where I can't touch it to see if it is dry, Lol.

I like the smell of fresh paint. Maybe because I know that means I am getting somewhere on the project

I will be working on it for a while as I am not as fast as I used to be.
Really Though I takes me longer to decide how I want to do something than to do it.

We have a busy weekend coming up, We Have a graduation party to go to Saturday( where I hope to recruit some help) Then Sunday is Shopping day.
We can drive 15 miles for groceries and come out ahead.

Spent the day with my good friend Val (simplysmn ) and put a pump and some POD injectors on his Crew.
My paint on the cab, fenders and hood is nice and dry. Now I'll start on the doors and paint the flatbed. Should be done real soon.
Here's the cab painted

Here's the side with the welded up trim holes

The spot is on the lens and not the cab
here's where I put it so I would keep my grubby hands off while it was drying

A while back I swiss cheesed the air box and changed the air filter. The PO lost two if the plastic wingnuts that hold the air filter into the air box. I decided to make my own. I bought a couple of 1/2 inch wingnuts and 1/4-20 coupler (barrel) nuts. I welded the coupler nuts into the wingnuts and made a better-than-factory replacement. It's probably overkill but I am tired of being laughed at by the parts guy at the dodge dealership every time I ask for W250 parts. I also bought my baby a new pair of shoes! I picked up a set of Alcoas off a 1994 F250.

I was at the wrecker recently and saw those plastic wing nuts on another chrysler product. Had nothing to do with air cleaner assembly though. I can't recall what type of vehicle, or the application right now. I will think about it and maybe I can recall?

I picked up whatever NAPA had in their cleaner isle. It worked ok looking from afar, but you can see the residue and stuff it missed up close. As for the running boards it didn't really do anything for (thinking about painting them a gun metal grey or similar to hide the fade and peeled spots.

I got it covered now! I'll post a pic in my build thread. Seems like every time I go to the dealership and ask for some little first gen part they kind of chuckle and say they haven't had those for years. It's gotten to the point that they start to smirk as soon as I walk up to the parts counter.

Took the beautiful weather after work to clean the old girl up. Good wash, a little wax, and lightly hit the wheels for now. I'll pull them off tomorrow for a good polish, just didn't have the time these evening.

I replaced the chintzy, cheap, thin walled Advanced Adapters transmission mount with a piece of 3"x3"x .25" steel tube. Should've done it when I put the trans in last month but misplaced my piece of square tube. I also replaced the hardware with grade 8. I'll post a pic on my build thread.

ya know that isn't a bad idea. makes it easy to ID the parts that were repared/ made.

Casual observer: What have you done to your truck?
Truck owner: everything that is painted yellow or any other color.

I may start painting my parts JD green. it might look good aginst a satin black frame. Just a thought.
I am all for being different as long as it is well executed.
