Before I converted the truck to 4wd I did not have a neutral safety/clutch switch. Had the family in the truck one night after going out for diner and started it....truck jumped up and into a planter in the parking lot before I got the clutch in.

The mechanic had stuck his arm into the truck through the open door and started the truck. He forgot to pull it out of gear. That truck lurched forwards and took out the $15,000 alignment machine with no effort whatsoever. The F350 had the big metal push bumper with the rubber coating on it, and there wasn't a scratch on the machine. It was, however, 1/2 the thickness it used to be.

Spent the day with the brick making money. I think that's what these things were built originally for, no ?

I'm super slow when I clear snow. I don't beat on my machine, or whomp on the plow, so it was a nice relaxing day for me. Sucked having to shovel here or there, but since I had 1/3 of the normal accounts due to the minimal depth, all went well..

Thanks for the welcome found lots of helpful stuff and got ideas that are starting to cost me a lot. Just ordered the 3200 spring and pin. Can hardly wait to get it installed. It took two days to get the right front off. The place I got them from sold me all the stuff they could. They told me the front was impossible to find all new stuff. So had to be very careful.

You can get all the front end parts for these trucks no problems. I can think of a couple on line off the top of my head.

SDS truck had the bushings and shackles for the rear of mine. I went with urethane on the front because I don't like the way the stock ones are designed.

Well this morning at 0700 and -20*F. I went out to start the old goat. Everything was good. Let it run for 15 minutes or so then went to town. About the time I hit the highway the alternator quit charging. So to the shop I went. Swapped alt with known good one. No charge, swapped wires to my external regulater still no charge. Swapped wire back and it kicked in for about ten minutes quit charging. So went to town got a new external regulator installed it and it charges. Not wanting to rely soley on the external regulator I went back to trouble shooting the factory setup. Turns out it was a relay on the fender. Swapped it out and it charges just fine now.

Thats whatcha get for disabling the clutch safety switch!

Candied bacon: Google it! Usually involves brown sugar, rice vinegar, maple syrup, black pepper, honey, and basting. Kind of a PITA to do it right but VERY worth it. Maybe I'll bring some to Carlisle next year.

I NEVER attempt to start a manual transmissioned truck/car without the clutch distinguished unless it is intentional.

Same here with one exception.

I had a 73 C30 Chevy with a 4-53NA Detroit and it was so hacked togheter the only way they start it was a push button under the hood by the rack.

I tell you I checked and re checked the Clark trans was in neutral about 5 times before pushing that button!

Just ordered the front E brake cable for the brick.

Couldn't believe it was still available ... from the dealer, that is.

I've put 2 aftermarket ones in, and this time I'm spending the big $29.50 for an OEM Dodge ram one.

Let's see what happens....

Hey fellas,

Just curious if anyone here has experienced this.

I upgraded my compressor, wheel, and fuel pin over the summer. Truck runs great, no issues until it got COLD out.

Really weird, but when the truck is cold, and the engine hasn't warmed up completely, during COLD weather (40*F or less), when I go to shut the truck off, the engine takes longer to stop. Essentially, it continues turning / dieseling, after I turned the key off, whereas once it's warm / hot engine, this goes away.

Ollie suggested pulling the FSS out and inspecting the plunger. That's what I'm doing today. I thought maybe I adjusted the star wheel too far downwards, and there's not enough pressure pushing the fuel pin back up into position at shut down. I'm no expert at this, so this is why I'm asking if any of you have experienced this ?

Pulling the FSS today to inspect.
