Yesterday i finished my FatMat sound deadening except for the rear of the cab. Will have to order another roll. Also did the Jim Lane carpet in the door. I used some of the 8# 7/16" i have for under the floor mat but i think i will put some FatMat on when i order more as i think the 7/16" is to thick. Bulges out my door panel a little bit. Overall even without the carpet and vinyl mat it is substantially more quiet. Can't wait to get it all done.

I should be doing that to my cab floor and inner door skins right now. Especially while my transmission is out. All I'd need to do it pull the seats and rip out the carpet.

Friday I had my South Bend flywheel surfaced. Machine shop said they ground off somewhere around .015" of material to get it true. I also sourced a new sealed roller pilot bearing and tapped it into place.

Very much worth the effort. I'm having to do mine in spurts as I'm daily driving the ol boy for the time being

Where was it manufactured, if I may ask ?

No, not new. I should've specified that. I installed this flywheel and clutch back in 2010. Bought the Con OFE kit. The flywheel was worn where the clutch disc makes contact. Normal wear from what South Bend told me. Nothing to be concerned about. A surface grind until it's true is all it needed.

I use a floor jack to take the weight then "fine tune" locate it by hand.
I just pulled one before dinner tonight.

What did I do to my 1st Gen today?
I lost the little spring behind the Cam Plate inside the injection pump today...
Good news is the outbuilding I'm working on it in is only 5'x15' and relatively clean, sort of...

I have one of those disk magnets on a stick for just such an occasion.
