wh1c wheel/housing swap
Hi,
I got a baby h1c and a wh1c thats got bad seals. Can I swap the housing/wheel between them?
Also, the wh1c has a mwe slot. I thought they didnt? Please clarify...

hopefully someone chimes in. im in the same boat as you.
i think the housing will fit. you just have to be able to torque the compressor wheel back down. there might be something in the sticky to read up on

It is from a 94. I thought thats the only year of trucks that had those? I always thought they were the same as a 18cm h1c, but with the 12cm housing.

They used them in the early '95's too. I got one off from a '95, and used the 12cm on my '93.
They do have the MWE slot, probably because they had the 12cm IMO. Without it they surge. Not with stock fueling I don't think, but I am sure the engineers knew it would need it.
Imagine what they would say about some of our setup's.

Got the housings switched up! Went easy as pie.
Only to find out my inch pound torque wrench only works the normal way. ***!
Anyways, drilled out the wastegate hole to 1" and extended it through both sides of the housing. Im curious to see how it compares to the other 12cm that I hogged the divider out of.
Will have reports when the i/c goes in.
